Fundamentals of AI (DEM101)


Description

The course will cover the foundational knowledge to think critically when considering different AI tools, their uses, and their risks. Exploring the different types of AI, from rules-based systems to large language models the course will begin demystifying AI.

The course will explore the opportunities and risks associated with AI in a municipal setting.

Learning objectives

By the end of the training course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and classify different types of AI technologies and their functionalities.
  • Explain the AI development lifecycle and describe its importance for responsible AI implementation. 
  • Analyze various AI functions and their applications.
  • Identify and categorize different types and levels of risks associated with AI, and analyze their potential consequences. 
  • Discuss AI governance principles and design strategies for responsible AI practices across the lifecycle.
